After finding that one brake caliper has siezed, had them refurbished. Fitted along with new disks and pads.
But un even pressure from braking system and calipers are not realising quickly. Friendly mechanic has suggested fitting new hoses as could be damaged.

My fear is that it could be the master cylinder! any other suggestings or advice gratefully recieved.

Could one of the refurbed pistons be sticking? Or the pad sticking in the caliper? If you have the standard sliding single pot caliper the mechanical slide can jam. If you have air in one side only, it will pull (although theory suggests that the pressure should balance). If the pads on one side haven't been bedded in properly it may pull under braking. If the disk is out of true with the axle, or the caliper is not absolutely parallel to the disc, you can get some very strange effects as it all distorts under braking. Basically time to look at the installation very carefully, look for trapped/kinked hoses, watch the brakes carefully while your mate puts twenty stone on the pedal.

Hmm.. I'd go for a thorough bleeding of the system first then see how it is... I'd start with the simple (aka inexpensive) checks first before rushing out and buying new parts.

Cheers,
Matt.

How does the pedal feel on braking... firm ?

And how can you tell that they arent backing off quickly.. have you been down at the wheel when someone else is statically applying the brakes..?

Yes, even feeling brake hose pressure there is a difference between left and right.

Thought we had a partially siezed caliper but were told that it was the brake hoses causing the problem - presently being replaced

The saga continues.
You were right the Granada discs came with 5 holes. With the help of you guys managed to find out that the disks are from a XR4X4i replaced them and pads for a total cost of £67. who said TVR's were expensive to maintain.

It'd be much easier if you called someone like Peninsula and ordered some over the phone. They wouldn't have been too expensive either. They also have a range of upgrades to fit std calipers.

TVR specialists are typically cheaper than main dealers so you wouldn't be paying through the nose either.
