Gold fish bowl rear lights
Discussion
Hello All,
Well, having managed to just about cover all and everywhere that's been a leaking suspect with silicone, the rear lights in my 99 Chim 500 are filling with water. That probably explains why on either side of the boot it was a puddle every time it rained. I assume the seal around the rear light cover is the culprit.
The seal is matt black in colour; is this Sikaflex 221? I assume I'm going to have to take the whole thing off to drain, dry and then reseal. Or could I just make a hole at the lowest point to drain them and then run sealant around the cover.
Suggestions welcome and many thanks
Kim
UPDATE: - Spoke too soon. Still leaking into the boot. I cut a slit along the bottom of the rear light cover to drain the water. Also leaking from where the the hinge bolts to the car body. For now it's all a temporary fix with more silicone.
