So - what's your Chimaera done the quarter mile in? Was that in standard spec, or have you used nitrous? Was it as much fun as road driving?

97 500 - 13.2 seconds at 108 mph. That was with 2 of us in it.

I only live a couple of miles from the 'Pod so go several times a year. It's an absolute *hoot*, although you shouldn't go if you're a shy retiring type, because IME TVR's attract a *lot* of attention.

13.9 seconds at 101mph in a standard 450, BTW.

14.116 seconds 101.15 MPH from a standard '98 4.5L

This was from the 10th run of the day getting faster each time (1st run 15.83 seconds)

Had a fantastic day at York dragway organised through West Yorks TVRCC about 10 TVR's racing on the day.

More race days are planned for next year, so I think I'll get busy in the garage over winter and see if I can improve my time next year.

Haven't run mine yet

Will be disappointed with anything over 13.98 on my standard 400 - that's the best I got out of my old Nissan ;-)

13.98 @ 105mph in my old 200sx, running about 1 bar of boost... so that's the what I've got to beat on the TVR to be happy... :-)

Last time I was at the Pod, saw a seriously stripped-out (to the extent that half the dash had been hacksawed away) scabby pale blue 2 litre 16v Corsa running 12s - mad little car!

A 'chimp' will take a good half hour to run up the track...!

A chim 450 on the other hand mid 13's are something to aim at with practice and running well..

(i used to own a 200sx S14a and they can go very quickly without alot of money spent. To me still had about as much character as a turbocharged dyson.. )

Never seen the guy with Fiat 500s with small-block Chevy's in? He has two - a red one and a blue one. The engines in the front and he sits where the back seat used to be.

Renault 5 GT Turbos run low 11's! Probably 10's very soon! Very impressive for a 1.4.

Are you sure ? as an Ultima GTR packing over 700 BHP just about comes in under 10 secs and a very fast (modified) Cerbera would run just under 12.

Problem is you never know how much boost turbo cars are running. I ran up the pod against one of these earlier this year in my old V8S and we were both around the 13.8sec mark.

Yes mate, 11.4 @ 123mph.

It's also not all about boost, if it were that simple anyone could do it!

Sorry for taking it off topic (car wise), although the thread was dead on its arse anyway!
