I have a 4.3 Griff non cat chip in mine works great, and i had the AFR checked on the dyno and was spot on ( 42psi fuel pressure.), i dont even run the stepper motor as i get sick of the bingo number tick over!

You will get a much smoother, freer revving engine and maybe a little bit extra bhp and lb.ft - and if set up correctly it will be a bit more economical too.

Its the setting up that makes the difference though.. I think you can buy the chip with a "standard" Map in it that will yield some "improvement" however without having it mapped to your car on a RR you'll not be getting the most out of the engine/chip.

Definately make sure you get the chip tuned to the car on a rolling road. The standard mapping is conservative - some engines can be significantly enhanced by changing to a specific mapping.

Better economy, more performance - what more can you want? If you've got the cash, get it

So would a Tornado chip, even with it's conservative' setting be better than the standard chip? Obviously I realise it would be better with a rolling road session.

If you look at Mark Adams Ebay shop, (http://stores.ebay.co.uk/V8Performanc he details what the chip does, BUT he is referening to the standard Range Rover map shortfall, not the TVR power one. Do you think they ever worried about emmissions !

Problem is the fuel map is fixed so something as simple as a different air filter, exhaust or cam will change the fueling the engine requires. So... even a performance modified chip may not bee 100% correct for you car without tweeking on a rolling road after its fitted. Personally I think its a rip off to ask £400 for a chip that costs about £6 and that then might require a rolling road session afterwards,I reckon the cost should be all in. You might as well take your car to TVR power who have a multitude of different fuel maps they can try and the experiance. Their chips where only £70 plus rolling road time. I have seen the TVR Chimera chip take a standard Rover v8 (fitted to a Ginetta) from 180bhp to 205BHP so they cant be that bad! The standard Range Rover map is pretty bad, so its easy to get big improvements.
