While the Chim was in being serviced the other day had a new drivers side wing mirror housing fitted. I never realised but my mirror heaters have clearly not been working and while fitting the new housing they must have found and fixed whatever the problem was, Leading to a whole new experience for me driving along when both mirror glasses fall out. On checking seems the heaters have softened the stickies on the back of the mirrors enough to have them come unstuck ! So I guess the double sided padded stickies I had arent good enough. For now I've disconnected the heaters as Ive never missed them to date...but does anyone have a recommendation for stickies that will withstand being warmed up ?

Cheers

Drawing Pins

Not helpful I know but its been one of those days.

Have you thought about taking it back to garage and asking them?

Are you sure the securing lugs have been twisted in to place behind the glass?

Worth checking before you go down the sticky pad route.

I mis understood. I thought the garage were the ones who had used the wrong type of adhesive.
A body repair shop may be able to supply the proper stuff.

AFAIK they all have heated mirrors that come on when you switch the ignition on and stay on for 5-10 minutes. In my case they werent working (unknown to me) but are now fixed. Once they've been on for a minute or so they actually feel quite warm/hot so its easy to see if they are working..

No worries ;-) The garage actually fixed the heated mirrors (and other stuff as well) so they did a good job - its my bodging thats questionable :-/
