From memory at the Offords, mine was £150+VAT. Sounds absolutely wonderful and worth every penny in my opinion.

shout PLENTY LOUD ENOUGH !!
And lots of bang, pop and crackle on the over run.
Ask on here, there is sure to be someone near to you who has had it done, or give me a shout if you are around the Berkshire area (and i'm sure Chauch will give you a demo if you are in the Cambs area)
Good luck

I find if just right, plenty loud enough without being droney or overpowering and wonderful on overrun shoot

As e2djh said, if you are local, more than happy to help.... That was indeed fitted.

Hello mate wavey
Just thought i'd let you know, i did a 500 mile round trip yesterday, half of each way with the roof down - and i still have my ears! The noise is sufficiently "behind" you, to not be a problem on long motorway runs.

Like you, i'm pleased i had it done

I had mine done by Ian at Middlewich, for about that price.

I love em, but then I only use the car for fun.

I would say it sounds like deep thunder followed by pops and bangs on overrun.
In a built up area, everybody will stop and turn to stare. Ive even had bikers ask me to rev it at the lights.

GO ON, GO FOR IT

Conversion is around £150+VAT from Offords or Middlewhich or there is the full system in SS if you are thinking about replacing the whole system from ACT. Note that all the systems probabl sound different.

Here is the ACT system:

Does anybody have the details on which cherry bombs are used, and what they replace in the standard system?

Tempted to try something like this but Offords is a bit of a way away...

No idea what are used, but they replace the perforated pipes inside the silencer.

Just get yourself some 52mm dia stainless pipe (2 bits about 700mm long) cut out your rear silencer and weld the tube in place....2hr job from start to finish and sounds awesome.

If you get the cuts in the right place you can keep two of the exhaust mounts as well...!!!

Not quite the same sound as a cherry bomb system though.

It will probably be louder...a cherry bomb still has a baffled (perforated) pipe inside it....just a differnt kind of baffle packing and a lot less of it.

Wouldn't this be illegally loud?!?! And probably affect the running of the car?

Had the Offords cherry bombs fitted to my 4.0HC recently and it sounds the nuts rotate, my mum, who is 83 said it shouldn't be allowed! yikes, with about 4k revs on overrun and very light touch on the gas its shoot at dawn. Cost £140 + VAT, top value.
