i've got a slight problem, my heater blowers are not working, don't know which fuse it is so i've checked them all and there are all fine, but still nothing, the knob surround does not even light up when i put my lights on.

Considering that you do not even have illumination at the switch, could it be that the plug(s) have come away behind the switch???????

in my 97 R 450 the light around the heater switch comes on with the ignition not the lights. Sounds like you have a plug fallen out somewhere

This won't help at all: but in my Chimaera:

Hit bump: blower on Next bump: blower off etc etc hehe I've looked back through the service history & it's been like that since it left the factory!

Having just fixed a similar problem, this is probably a dash off jobby. However, as this is a PitA, check everything else first.

Hi Adam,
My heater packed up about a month ago. Turned out to be the control box behind the
dash. The main feed to the control box had melted the socket shell and the pin.
Took the box out, pulled it apart and cut the connector off. I then soldered directly to
the old plug pins that remained with wire of a similar thickness. On the other end I fitted
some large bullet crimps.
Then fitted bullet crimps to the cables in the car. Reconnected everything and Bobs your
auntie.
The problem has been reported on here a few times just recently with photos.
I did have the option of fitting a new connector but it just isn't up to the job hence the
failure in the first place.
Do make sure that you label wires first though.
A new box by the way is £160 plus vat.
It is a dash off job but once you've done it once it will only take 10 mins.
Hope this is of some help.
Cheers
Paul

My blower didn't work. Took car into garage. Mechanic said - "It works fine. You did know that you have to push the knob and not just turn it?"
