You WILL NOT regret it!, i've wanted one for a long time and have enjoyed every minute of it. There's a good group of enthusiasts out there and stacks of info on web sites like this one not forgetting 'the bible'.
rom my experience with a moderate amount of knowledge ownership does not need to be all about the nightmare stories you hear so much about - It is quite feasible to do a lot of work on them yourself.
Take your time to get a decent one though as it is easy to rush into it - especially when you hear it fired up!

What have you got to part-ex?

I didn't use him myself but I've heard that Rob Ingleby is very helpful. He runs a web site called www.findasportscar.co.uk. Might be worth a look

hooked - sell your part-ex privately and use Rob Ingleby to source your dream for you. Unless you need to do the deal consecutively - then I suggest...er, um.....a bank loan for the Trev then sell it!

Sorted.

you could get a flexible loan from someone like cahoot - then when you sell your old car pay the loan off.
this way you only pay interest while you have the loan out.
also private buyers will understand the reason for sale if they see the chim. ( worked for me! )

How ya doin hooked

You might be better off buying from a dealer if it's your first tivvy, then you'll be covered for any small problems you might not be able to sought yaself. I,ve just been looking at fernhurst & A.blyth dealers on the pistonhead homepage & they've got some beauties to suit all budgets and remember you can haggle better if you've been watching wrong car right car.

Hi Hooked
I bought my chimaera this time last year in time for Spring. I live in west yorks - the local dealer not helpful and never returned any calls - maybe they just couldn't source the right car at the time - however I ended up using Mole Valley in Surrey - found these guys to be very helpful and after sales also a good experience. Hope you get your car soon - you will not regret it. Which one are you looking for - I recomend the 5 litre!!!!

Gotta 2nd the Mole Valley experience. Bought mine from there and NO regrets at all.

Blyths have a good rep too. Get a good 'un and you won't reget it. Buy on condition NOT price!
