Looking for another Chimaera or Griffith at the moment. I looked at a Griffith which had some paint crazing on the bonnet. Would the only solution to respray, or can it be improved in any way? Also does it tend to be the glassfibre, lacquer or the basecoat that crazes... I was wondering if it could just be flatted back and relacquered?

Cheers guys...

No i had this on my 400 spoke to an expert at the chimfest and its the fibreglass it needs to right back to the base and then repair. Not cheap.

I concur. Crazing of the paint *probably* points to a fibreglass problem underneath. Expensive.

I don't know what you can do to delay it- there might be some way of getting behind the area and painting on some resin.

It's also worth looking at the cause. It may be caused by a one-off knock, or some underlying problem- an extreme example could be the chassis twisting.

The fibreglass isn't structural, but it is about the only thing between you and the tree you may crash into so it's worth making sure it's not spread over a large area.

Hello mate, Sorry to say I agree it does spend a littler too much time on the drive...

Just makes me appreciate her more when I take her out.

We'll have to meet up for a beer

If your passing by one evening pop in and introduce yourself, be good to meet you in person.
