Chimp fuel tank

Anyone know the size in litres of a 4.0l Chim fuel tank. Nearly ran out of gas this morning and put 57 litres to fill her up. Just wondered how close I was.

That's close! I think it's 60 litre, you beat me, my previous record is 54 litres

From my research the Chim tank holds 57 litres. So I haven't a clue what you were running on!

Must admit though that the fuel gauge was still just slightly off the E mark

I think mine ('97 500) is more like 60- I ran out of petrol on the A303, took 5 litres off the friendly AA and then, two miles later, put 55.66 litres in the tank.

First and only time the fuel gauge has stuck, but the AA were there within 15 minutes.

officially they are 57, but the filler neck holds a little extra and the fuel system will hold a little. you must have been on ther fumiest of fumes
