I think a car is only as reliable as it's maintenance. All my tvr's have been reliable, but well maintained irrespective of year.

Not sure of generalising the later cars, my L reg chim has never let me or the previous owner down.

I've said it now though...

'96 cars may have been more reliable in 1996, '97 cars in 1997 and so on. These days it's all down to how it's been looked after - maintenance.

I think when people say this they are referring to serp engine having better oil pump and T5 box instead of Rover, which you will find in very late 94' cars but mostly found from 95' on.But as said by the rest of the posts its down to the owners.

Mine's a '96 model, dark blue (the quickest sort! ) and has been very reliable.

....and (unashamed plug) ....it's up for sale!

Sorry to hear it's going! Mine was also on the market until this weekends antics encouraged us to find an alternative solution.
