just bought a heap to do some building work so Trev has been laid up for intermittent use only, rather than every day

OMG - don't do it!

Continual starting probelms - battery drainage, subsequent secondary problems with the radio blowing on restart. No problems beforehand

Trev owners - use your car every day - or buy a battery conditioner!!!

Jem,just a thought get the output checked on your alternator, the radio blowing is a sure sign the car is over charging(normally the 1st thing to get hurt)the cars other electrics are more robust, but wont be for long, you may have just spiked the electrics when you jump started, but check the alt ouput it could get expensive otherwise.

thanks, have checked and all looks ok

the person I saw said that they wouldn't put the ridiculously small battery in a yugo let alone a big V8, eth main dealer said that 'they do go through batteries'

maybe it's a lesson learned, I wonder what's teh biggest battery I can crowbar in - I'll probably do that if people think that's ok
