Eeeeevenin all,
Anyone know of a good car alarm installer in the north west.
Getting a bit a bit p**sed off with standard Meta job and have now lost
my sense of humour. Will be taking a small hammer to the fob this weekend.
Cheers
Paul.

I'm with you on this one, I'm thinking of getting an alarm that I can turn on and off without having to take the fob apart and stand next to the car swearing until the thing works!! and that's with new batteries too mad

You can get a new fob set up for the existing alarm system (about £50 I think I paid). Meta works a treat now! www.alarmremotes.co.uk or www.tvruk.tv - can't remember which I used now!

I had a problem with my Meta when i first bought my Chim and had a chat with Carl Baker about alarms when i had mine fixed.
I had been tempted with replacing the Meta with something with a few more gizmo's as i thought the Meta seemed...well rubbish..

Anyway, Carl advised me that the one thing the Meta has in its favour is its generally very robust to the very 'spikey' electrics in the TVR where some of the flashier alarms tend to go pop more often..

After my inital glitch, my Meta has been A1 OK ever since..

I would recommend speaking to Carl (no im not his PR Department ) and getting your Meta fixed. If you want a gadget he can do the Remote boot opener option for you....

And it should be alot cheaper than getting the Meta ripped out and a new system installed.

Cheers,

Nick

Thanks for all your help guys.
Spoke to Carl yesterday about the problem (key fob isn't transmitting) and now sending
the alarm module to him to clear and reprogram two new key fobs.
Disconnected module and car still runs but no central locking or alarm.
Posting the module to him on Monday.
He also said to keep Meta alarm as it appears to be bomb proof for the TVR environment
as you said Nick.
Unfortunatley cannot get just another fob as a fully working fob is needed
to program new fob into the alarm.
Once again thanks for all your help.
Fingers Crossed.
Paul.
