Found a clip hanging out of the centre console (passenger side) as shown below. Anyone know what it is?

Cheers.

Possibly a connector for an Accumate? I have a connector in about that position that I've wired in myself for that reason, its a handier position than scrabbling in the footwell, but easy to run a wire to from the battery. Easy to check, stick a multimeter on it and if you get 12v between the terminals with the ignition off then its a live feed from the battery and most likely there to plug a charger into.

Couldn't help noticing you've started a lot of threads lately to do with batteries and charging - I'm not a great believer in coincidence, maybe you just found your answers!

Could be the answer Victor, Useually all that are under the console are the Speed sensor wire and the Alarm sensor..but hey its TVR so could be anything else. Looks like an old connector so not 100% sure it would be a charger one.

New battery fitted. One I removed was the original - so it did a really good job. Not working at mo - so spending more time playing with the Tiv - hence the thread spam!

S'ok!

You just have four screws holding the console down - 2 under the trinket tray (pull the base out) and two at the front. With those removed you should be able to lift the console far enough to see where the wire goes to. Happy hunting!

I've got two of these connectors sticking out in the same place. I don't know what they are for either. Perhaps two battery conditioners!!1

Great - I am not alone. Maybe we've all got them - and not yet found them!

Heated seats. Have a look under the seat & you will prob see the other connector. Unless of course your heated seats are working in which case I have no idea!

Yep, just been out and checked. That does like the connectors on the heated seats, and the wire colours are right too. The "other connector" behind the seat will probably already be connected, to a lead which runs under the carpet up to the console, up the side of the storage cubby hole. There's a third similar connector under the console which goes through the body into the gearbox area, probably the reversing light switch.

The battery charger plugs tend to be of the one male one female variety to ensure polarity isn't reversed (doh!).

It's possible that you don't have heated seats fitted of course, which may be why that lead isn't connected! If that's the case just poke it back under the console and forget about it!

The heated seat wiring seems to be std in a lot of the looms. You will find the connectors just taped to the loom under the console & by the heater switch (early cars).

Not to say somebody has not cannibalised a handy bunch of wires....
