Have been lurking on the boards for a while now, but not posted anything as my Chim has been faultless up until now. Anyway, as a result of my constant over-exuberant driving and one too many burn-outs at London Thunder, I think I'm in need of a new clutch.....it seems to be slipping in 3rd, 4th and 5th, though 1st and 2nd are still fair game. I'm located in london and was wondering where the best place to go for replacement was, and wether it was worth having anything else done whilst they're under there. I've used Offords before, but they are quite a trek, and Walldonway are good, though a bit pricey. Any other options?...oh and what sort of cost am I looking at?

Any advice much appreciated.

It certainly sounds like new clutch time. A dealer/specialist will want about £800 but your local garage will probably ask less that half that to fit the same parts. It's not a specialist TVR job so best phone around for some quotes. Be sure to change all three bits.

Whats your mileage BTW?

Got a quote from offords for £395 + VAT so dropped it off there this morning. Car has 67K on the clock and I cant see any receipts in the history for a clutch change. Might get the cherry bomb conversion done whilst it's there......

So did you get your clutch changed for £395 + VAT, or did they find that it needed 'extra' work?
