Went up to rural Suffolk yesterday to look at the red 4.3 in the classifieds, down on the garage floor I went to get close and personal with the outriggers (solid), worked my way through a huge stash of receipts, got ride in it, very tentatively took it out on my own in torrid weather on a very muddy and slimy B-road (it didn't send me into the ditch, but then again I got passed by rather unlikely vehicles such as a mighty Fiat Doblo ), had a long chat with the seller... and then I put a deposit on it. eek

I still can't believe it... I bought myself a bl**dy TVR at last...

Now for making arrangements to pick it up and get it into the country legally without it being on the back of a trailer...

Congratulations! You will never regret it I'm sure. I've had my 450 since August and can't stop driving it. Great car. Enjoy it!

Have fun but don't ever forget to take it easy in the wet otherwise it will bite you eventually.

Good looking ,and rare Chim ,if it's as good underneath as it's bodywork suggests, then you're on to a winner.

Probably the second best way for a dutchman to blow 11000 Euros
driving..

Best way is probably touring the red light district in your Chim and not getting out.

Bought a red Chimp myself again in October after 10 years without a TVR.
Once it is in the blood it's forever !!!

Gefeliciteerd and have a good time with it.

Cheers all - feels like home already here, but then again I've been around these parts for awhile now.

Going to fetch it by the end of next week - just in time for Christmas - then it'll have to hibernate in the parking garage for awhile wilst I prepare it for Dutch MOT, do a thorough detail and save up for the Dutch registration tax... Will keep you all posted!

That's a Chim going to Holland and a Griff going to Belgium in the next couple of weeks that I've heard about. Has TVR ownership suddenly become fashionable on the continent?

Don't think I'll have it registered by then already (bl**dy BPM), but you're always welcome to have a look at it as I'm lovingly preparing her for the spring (not to mention its first APK on these grounds)...

Congratulations with your new power toy. I wish you many brilliant hours of fun in your Chim. ( Ik ben wel heel jaloers )
I am living in Antwerpen and will be buying a Chim between January / February.
Too expensive here so I will be going to England for a right hand drive.
Any tips out there when coming over.
People in Belgium still need to be educated about TVR. You never see any.
Such a wonderful car for not so much money. Better than any bloody Porsche which you see every day by the dozen on our Belgian roads.
I will be looking for a 1998-2001.

TheFarmer (living in NL, RHD) is thinking about selling his more than imaculate Chim.

And even better: there's a Belgium based Trident Clipper Vert for sale, one out of four . . . I guess that might be a bit above your budget.
