hi newbie hear 4 weeks into tvr ownership looking for a bit of advice,i went on holiday for a week and have a flat battery,
called out the AA who got me up and running again said it was the battery on the way out so i poped into halfords and bought a 075 with 620cc would this fit into an early chimaera 1994 4.0hc as looking at other posts the size of the battery box changed around 1996 any info would be greatly appreciated cheers robbri.

the AA man recomended 075 i think the 072 is a bit larger than the 075 but i could be wrong hence the larger battery for later chimaeras

I have an early 94 Chim and used a 072 from Halfrauds just a few weeks ago, needs the holding fins cutting off on the one side to get it to fit into the fibreglass box though, mannaged to do a template this time however so if you would like it just let me know and I can mail it over to you.

Mine is an early car and I put a 075 in a few months ago. It was the most powerful battery I could get which would fit in the battery box, which is indeed smaller on the earlier cars.

It replaced a less powerful battery anyway, and has been fine so far....

If you have your car in a garage, fit an Accumate (or similar).

I haven't ever had to worry about leaving the car for weeks at a time as the battery is always kept topped up.

Also, it can be very handy when you leave a mobile phone charger plugged in overnight and there's no other car around to jump-start off!

I worry about my battery when left for long periods of time (especially this time of year) I have bought a solar charger (see link below) I used this when I left the car outside for 2 weeks and it started first time.
