...it's a 1996 Chim 500 and I need convincing to keep it as I'm about to invest in a restaurant with my Brother-in-law and I'm getting married next year...

You can't possibly sell it?
How would you get to the restaurant? How would you get to/from church? confused

I take it that's the future brother-in-law-to-be?

Nope - it's current Brother-in-law (married to my Sister). I've had it five years now so I also think I want a change, but if I sell it the money may (will) go on other things and who knows when I'll have enough again?!? Having said that I need the money from it...

How many times do we here about people selling their P&J's then regretting it.

Don't do it - you will be sorry!

Now listen up my ginger brother:

How many 'carrot top', 'ginger nut' and 'orange pubes' insults did you take over the years at school?

Now imagine what happens when the tormentors from those early, delicate, formative years see you rumbling down the road in the Chim - their chips will be well and truly doused with piss. All those years of torment washed away in the blink of an eye and a pop on the overrun.

Now re-run the above scenario with you driving a Suzuki Swift. See what I'm getting at here?

Now step away from Autotrader, get into the Chim and with those ginger cojones that God gave you hoon like you've never hooned before...

Here's an idea.

I am just about to post on the main forum that I have looked at a memebers TVR that is for sale and its a right dog and no one should touch it with a barge pole.

Also worth us putting an ad in the popular trader mags to the same effect too I think.

That way you can advertise it til you are blue in the face, but no one will buy it.

Win/Win, you can say you advetised it but there is no market for ut right now!

Sign it over into my protective custody - I'll lease it back to you for a very reasonable monthly payment.

Well it didn't take much persuading and considering that this year will be my 10th year back-to-back at Le Mans and I've always driven TVRs down there it would be damn silly to be a passenger this year!

Hurrah for Pistonheads. I'll keep my car

Hi ya mate.
Hope things are well, we will have to catch up soon.

I know you were thinking about changing it for a tuscan. That is the only time I would sell it. Even then I would think twice.

Keep it mate.

Well the Tuscan S will have to wait for the restaurant to make a decent profit, so (as everyone points out) selling it will mean no real car at all...hence. Don't sell it!

Why not offer special deals with PH members so that the restaurant is a massive success
straight away meaning you won't need to sell the car ?
