Does anyone know the price for some heads for a 5 litre.
A rough guestimate mine has split absolutely gutted only had head gasket done last year apparently they were pressure tested then not happy.
Is there any upgraded heads i can buy i think i remember reading that the standard ones are the best.

Oh also just as well upgrade the cam whilst i am there what do we think is the best for more power any idea of price

Sorry for the long thread i dont post much but when i do i like to bang on

Not sure about the head, but try a search against the Chim Forum for cams - it's been discussed at length many times over. IIRC, the V8D cams are well recommended.

Out of interest, what type of use does the car get (e.g. daily hack, hoon machine)? I ask as a 'fast' cam can make the car less wieldy in traffic...

If you speak to V8D or JED they will probably tell you to get a set of 4.6 range rover heads and have them re worked to a stage 3 spec. this will work better (compression etc)with a standard 5.0 bottom end. The original heads were over ported really, they work but not as well as a set of stage three heads. A company called Real Steel have produced a set of heads that apparently are the best ever!! Think there about £1000 a pair. Hope that helps.
