There I was, extolling the virtues of chimaera reliability when the little bastard died on me on probably the busiest roundabout off the M5/M4 almondsbury interchange.
This was, after initially giving it some major beans along an empty stretch of M49 in the rain, slowing to nose to tail traffic for about 2 miles crawling up the M49 to join the M5/M4 to get onto the A38, nose to tail again in 'orrible rain (which I must add was dripping down my collar). x2
Sat at the lights, first in the queue, it's idling perfectly, so a little push on the throttle, it goes to about 1000 revs, then coughs, again, *cough* harder prod *cough*, but not actually stalling...
Bear in mind I have the world on my rear, I leap out, obviously no one helps me, I pushed it to the side of the road, switched it off and cursed.
I then started it again, perfect, no problems at all. And after consultation, the conclusion was made that it was the throttle switch, and probably due to the fact it has been laid to rest for a couple of weeks. So I've cleaned it, and squirted it with gt85, and I'm buggered if I'm not going to drive it to work at 6am again.
God sometimes I wish I had a pathalogical love of porkers instead of tvr's.
Saying that, I think it's a bosch plug, so as far as I'm concerned it's a german fault
*rant over - sorry chaps, all is well...*

Hi chaps
Lovely if slightly cold drive down the motorway this morning, hopefully all will be ok for return trip at 17.30
No problems reported so far...
Edited to add, it was only cold because I obviously had the lid off as usual

Ay up Mike - will you pleaaase stop giving the world an excuse to say that TiV's are unrelaiable just because you don't look after it
Runs for cover
Runs for cover
It was a german part that let it down
, and only momentarily. In fact, I do look after it, and drive it generally every day. It's and my other tivs have proven more reliable than any of my other cars.
And that includes my pair of porkers.
