I need to replace a worn out key fob for my chimaera. I have approached Car & Bike installations who advertise in Sprint. After a long conversation the guy recommended that the alarm unit is over written and 2 new key fobs provided. The cost incl. vat £160. Does anyone have any experiences of using this company? Thanks.

Yes, used Carl about 18 mths ago for a new immobiliser unit and keyfob upgrade. Fantastic service and a top bloke as well.

He's one of the few you'll not find any negative remarks about.

A truly top bloke, and a perfectionist. He will give the best advice and never try to up-sell - others would have said put in a new alarm - so he has given a good option.

Carl did this for me 2 months ago and at the same time he installed a separate remote control for the boot. I am delighted with his work. He is a perfectionist and I can thoroughly recommend him.

New meta alarm fobs are available - I got one from abacus alarms, and programming is straightforward. Unfortunately you need the red card with 16 digit code supplied with the car to order one. If you do not have it you will be stuck with reprogramming the alarm and Carl is the safest option.

Another vote for Abacus, I ordered the fob at lunchtime & it was waiting on the doormat by the time I got home (it helps I'm only 5 mins from them )
