Ok, further to the alarm beeping trouble I had just before Christmas, I eventually narrowed the search down to the bonnet catch and the car thinking it's open when it's not. I fixed this by twisting the bonnet catch slightly, and it then fitted into the body catch better, and solved the problem.

It still gets confused sometimes, but not too badly - poor mite! Perhaps she just doesn't like the cold!

Anyway, thought I'd share the wealth/knowledge on this, as the alarm going off all the time is no joy for anyone!

The alarm knows when the bonnet is open ? Must be something for the newer ones then, my '97 Chim doesnt seem to care if I have the bonnet up when she's locked up !

Mine has one, but only because I ditched the Meta alarm and had another fitted. It has a separate switch for bonnet open. Maybe the OP's car also has an aftermarket alarm and a separate switch? If its anthing like mine it is right next to the bonnet catch, and it has threaded adjustment on the switch.
