I've had a small 'rash' of tiny blisters break out on one of my rear wings....what has caused this?

Can i reverse it? Will it need rubbing down and re spraying? etc etc etc.

Its on a 94 Chim with Starmist blue paint.

TIA

Nick,

Someone else on here has this not too long ago, i've done a search but can't find the topic. I don't remember the outcome but i'm sure someone will be along shortly to help.

Cheers
Neil.

Sounds like moisture under the laquer. It will have to be flatted and painted again if this is the case. The Cerbera i have just bought has a case of these measels too.

In some cases the moisture can creep up from the underside of the fibreglass.
If this happens you need to sand the fibreglass back a bit and fill with resin to make it water tight again then respray as normal.

I've seen it before where a cover left in contact with a painted fibreglass surface can cause small blistering which goes when the surface dries out - obviously this isn't the case.

Hope you get it sorted!

If you can try drying out the panel from behind, then paint over the inside if the panel when dry . Its called wicking , if the fibreglass strands are not fully wetted out with resin in the build process they act like straws pulling moister from in your case inside the boot probably. If you dry it the blisters will probably sink back down ,it may leave slight indentations but this could be polished if not to bad ,but painting the inside of the wing will stop the moister being drawn down the glass strands blistering the paint work . Must be really dry before painting.

Nick - sorry to hear you've got a nasty rash. I recommend the tablets over the cream.

super job....i'll try that.....anything better than a respray of the rear end which would cost mega bucks
