I know the engine gives a great sound track, but I would like to upgrade the sound system. Anyone found a good set up.

thanks Mark

Ok, here you are, this is how I made my chimaera stereo system sound good!!!

PIONEER DEH-P9100R Head Unit
PIONEER CDX-P2050VN 12 Disc CD Changer
PIONEER TS-E6995 6X9 Rear Speakers cut into exsisting air vents
PIONEER TS-E1695 upgraded replacement door speakers
PIONEER TS-W1201C Sub Woofer
ALPINE MRV-F409 4/3/2 Channel Amplifier X 2
All wired up using pheonix gold oxygen free wires and all 3 outputs on back of stereo for maximum quality.

I think a few people on here have seen it and would agree that it sounds quite good!!!
cheers
Rich

All apart from the head unit which was last years model, now been replaced with the 9300, almost identical but different oel displays. The whole lot was about £2000, but I fitted it myself, labour would have been quite a bit extra.

I've just fitted the DEH-P5500MP MP3/WMA player and got rid of the CD-changer,along with Alpine components in the front and a pair of Panasonic subs in the back powered by a 4x100 Alpine amp.Sounds great till about 90mph then it gets lost in the wind and exhaust roar(roof down)and is audible at any speed roof up.Total cost about £500(DIY fitting)which I think is really good value, plus the big Alpine amp, inline fuses and X-overs look fantastic in the boot,I'm thinking about using blue neon to highlight the boot instal or is that to Max-Power?

Rich - where did you place your sub? Is it in a custom enclosure?

Cheers,

Keith

Its on the rear shelf in a box, fits perfectly between the two seats and still leaves little cubby holes each side for things. Has a TVR Motorsport cover on it so you can't tell what it is. Eventually I will build an enclosure for it so it lies a little flatter.
cheers
