Another wont start.

All electrics seem fine,but starter motor doesnt engage,just a sort of rapid machine gun sound{not loud}.My thoughts are solenoid related,but any offers of help appreciated.
PS,car in garage,but not been started for week.

Yes. But if the battery's more than 3or4 years old it's probably past it's best and it will let you down again. For the price of a tank of optimax a new battey will give you peace of mind.

Strange that it should lose its charge within a week unless there's a current drain (other than the alarm), or you have been using headlights on short journeys without a sufficiently long period to recharge. Might also be worth checking that it's the correct battery fitted (630 Amp). Not uncommon to find a lower crank rated battery fitted which gets damaged by the charge from the alternator which is inappropriately high for this type of battery.
