Locked out of boot

Help
My battery went flat last week and i ended up having to call the AA out to start me as my jump leads were in the boot(and it wouldn't open as the battery was flat). I managed to get into the car using a bit of logic, not really too hard but couldn't work out how to actually get into the boot with a flat battery. I keep seeing messages saying that their is a "secret" way. Can someone send me a message and let me know how, for the future please.
As a precaution I have now changed the battery (ended up paying nearly £80 at halfrauds as I needed it asap.!!)

don't tell anyone who is new to P'heads.
Don't you think 4 months is still new-ish
Personally I wouldn't of emailed both as not knowing them both/ not long enough service
No disrespect to both posters btw.
I did think about it but frankly if you REALLY wanted to get into one badly enough I think you could suss it out in four months anyway. Besides it still took me bloody ages!

You both have mail, please don't share on the forum publicly and don't tell anyone who is new to P'heads.
Can you mail me to Al please.
Me too please.
Had the flat battery problem cos my garage is full so I can't park the chim in it and plug in the accumate. Had to use the mystic horsemans word to get in and take the battery out to charge it, but would rather have just opened the boot and plugged the charger in.
I think I know how its done, and if I'm right, then mine doesn't work

I connected a convenience charger point (not for Jump leads!) under the front number plate, which I believe others have done also. It was only so I could trickle charge via the boot / front not having to worry about which way round I parked the car or dragging extensions about. They are also useful as test points if you do any electrical diagnosis. BTW putting this in the front of the car fits in nicely with a 'brighter lights type upgrade: Fat cable from starter area to front wing, fuses/relays to power RHS lights switched by original lighting circuit.
