For a while I have been carrying a fire extinguisher in the boot. Not too easy to get at in an emrgency. What mounting places have you used ?

I thought about on the floor behind the passenger seat but there is not much space, on the parcel shelf or on the rear bulkhead. Any ideas which is best ?

Depending on how big it is - how about on the floor just in front of either seat? I never move either seat (apart from occasionally vacuuming behind them or collecting coins that have fallen from pockets) so the extinguisher would not get in the way.

I have one fitted sideways under the driver's knees so I can get to it while I'm driving, and also get to it from outside. If the extinguisher is in the cockpit with you I'd advise using a proper cradle with an over-center clip rather than the simple sprung cradle that some cheaper units use. Otherwise there's a danger that it'll break loose in an accident.
