Just had the front end resprayed, and whilst the job looks good it looks too shiny and a little to much metalflake. This makes the front end too bright although the paintshop said it would darken down with age. Anyone else had this with front end spray ?, rather wishing i hadnt had the work done as the front end wasnt too bad, just trying to get it perfect.

Had a similar problem some time ago. The old paintwork (moonraker black) looked somewhat lack lustre compared to the new.

Before goin' down the route of a depression, try restoring the old finish with some Farecla G10 and an electric polisher. You can pick up a polisher for about £15 these days; fabulous things they are. The G10 is rather marvelous stuff too; it's like an extremely fine water based T cut. Years of waxing leave almost microscopic scratches which dull the finish; your new paintwork doesn't yet have these. I'm sure all is not lost and you've nothing to lose by giving it a try.

Thanks for the reply, not quite at the prozac stage yet !

Yep have polished the whole car with Zymol looks ok except the new paint has a little more metalflake. Did yours darken over time ?, At a couple of feet you would not see the difference.

Difficult to say whether or not it darkened as the car is black. It just wasn't as lustrous. Can't say I'd noticed a difference in the flake either.

You say you Zymol'd it, as in waxing? I think it maybe needs the fine cutting (polishing as opposed to waxing) that the Farecla might do to resolve this problem. Wax afterwards. Hopin' it works out for ya; it can be more than a niggle if things aint right.
