Hi all
After re aquainting myself with an old and trusty steed

I have removed the headlamps and reflectors.

Does anyone know if it makes any difference which way the headlamp glass rubber seal is fitted?
It has a channel on the inside(off centre) and they do look slightly different when fitted over the glass each way round....if that makes sense... or indeed if they go on the inside or outside of the glass rim.

The old ones turned to dust when they were hit by day light and they didn't go all the way round the glass when i removed the glass..so i couldn't get to see what they looked like..

cheers

I didn't bother replacing mine when I refited the glass. Don't think it makes any difference but I'm sure some one will tell me it does!

Don't bother with them! I had a stone smash a headlight lens the other week and I just cut out all the old silicon and the rubber seal and then ran a bead of silicon around the lens and sat it back in place... Then as I screwed the cowling tight, it pushed the lens back into place for a perfect fit - looks exactly the same as the other one again!

cheers guys

I just thought I'd check first ... you never know with these tiv's

For all I knew i could have fitted the seal, turned on the lights and then the windscreen would have popped out, the boot opened, the garage roof taken off!! and all because the seal was fitted in the wrong place
