After getting stuffed by a rs500 cosworth on the way back from donnington i have decided to spend some money on the engine ( not too much mind )
Any thoughts on what i could do ( within reason )
p.s is there any speed cameras on the A50

how would you define stuffed ?
did the RS walk away ? was it a standard car?
were you side by side ? please shed some light .
I own a Chim 500, and can say from personal
experiance , the RS is not in the same league
as far as straight line acceleration is concerned.

Hi
make the car handle first and stop better. Then consider more power.

A Chimaera already handles and stops better than an RS500. But it wasn't a standard RS500 if he walked away from you.

RS500's are already well tuned and would give a chimaera a good run for their money!!!, However they can be tuned relatively easily to silly bhp. You have got to consider what gear you were in etc, if they were a couple of gears lower when you went then they would quite easily out do you!!! top end you should be able to beat it unless it has been tuned to silly bhp!!!

This RS was fast! i mean fast i hit 150 and he flew past me couldn't keep up at all , neither would my dads 4.5 cerbera. only consolation was it was heavily smoking when he backed off , hope he done some damage, passenger seems to think he was using nitros!!!

Talk to TVR Power. If you are very serious about the upgrade, and assuming you have a Chim 500 (as your name suggests) they do a package giving 345BHP (yes but I hear you say the Chim has 340/320 anyway!!) at 5500 revs, torque remains fairly flat around 320-330 from 3500-5500 revs. It comes at a price mind you, 3500 notes!!
Contact Dom Tricket at TVR Power for more details, dyno run graphs etc.

He's just pd at you because no matter how much power he has, your car has more class.

p.s is there any speed cameras on the A50

I thought the A50 was known locally as Gatso Alley? The police in Leics publish the location of their mobile cameras in advance www.speedorsafety.com/fixed_cameras.asp?area=n.w.%20leicestershire

If you were racing at 150 on that road I'm not sure whether to wish you luck that they were having a tea break when you went past, or hope they take you both off the road On balance - good luck!
