I have had some Infinity speakers in the front doors of the chim for about a year & a half now and one has packed up and stopped working and the other one does not seem to be far behind it.

I reckon that dampness has probably caused there downfall, can anyone sugest a good quality speaker to use????

I've got 5.25" Focal V Slim component speakers in front, excellent speakers especially with the tweeters installed higher in the door, come at a price though at over 200 notes yikes

Even if you're not put off the Infinity units because they fell apart, two returns can testify that neither the Kappa 62.7 nor the 652.7 will fit. The fascia is just too bulky to go inside the door mouldings (and even if it would it seemed obtrusively deep).

I'd suggest MB Quarts from Carl Baker at Car and Bike. Get in touch and ask him if there's someone near you who has already had an install in a Chim'. That was you get to audition things before you buy.

Steve.

I have those, courtesy of Carl. I have some Alpine 6x9s in the back too and over-all the sound is very clear, with a nice punchy but not over boomy bass, even with bass and treble set to neutral.
