Go to www.tvrbooks.co.uk and the tyre FAq. There is a tyre size/revs/speed spread sheet and table.

My Chimaera 450, 3000 Revs = 80 mph, seems to be different for 4L Chimaeras.

Mr. Heath's spreadsheet says that the Rover gearbox has fifth gear ratio of 0.73 (although no doubt not in all cases, it's a TVR), the T5 gearbox has fifth gear ratio of 0.8 only. This may account for it.

Chim on std tyres runs 27.5 mph per 1,000 rpm in top. See my recent thread on TVR gassing - Inaccurate Speedo. I was doing a little over 3,000rpm and the Fed's got me on their VASCAR at 91.4mph. Tacho could be out a bit but it still cost me £60 and 3 points.

Do not exceed 2750 rpm to ensure you are below 70 mph.
