Today my new (used) Chimaera will hit the road!

And even better, the forecast for the weekend is good.

Of course it was too expensive, but hey, it's Switzerland and we have thousands of tunnels

Wish you a nice weekend!

Congratulations.

Always nice to hear that another TVR has arrived on the
continent, as they are still very exclusive beasts
over here.

Enjoy the weekend !

I am surprised they let you buy one over there, my cousin lives over there (Lugano) and she assures me you all drive very slowly.
May be taking my Chim for a little ride in that direction soon, have been practising driving slower already

You'll be surprised if you are over here. Especially the italian part od Switzerland is not known for taking the speed limits too serious. If you go to Lugano be sure to take the old Gotthard street.

Hello guys,
FYI, personally I never saw a single speed control on the Swiss mountain roads. Regarding the southern part of Switzerland(Canton Ticino, Italian speaking part) I can tell you that they just don’t care too much about the speed limit. And if they stop you with a TVR, they are usually more interested in your car and let you go saying:” It’s OK this time, but slow down a bit.”
And if you add to that sunny & warm weather, palm trees, nice roads, beautiful mountains & lakes and a great local cuisine, this whole mix makes of Lugano region a paradise for TVR owners.
Regards,
Ozren

So how many TVR owners are there in Switzerland then?

Hard to say, but as there is only one dealer near Zurich (he's is the official importer aswell), I would assume there are a max. of 100 TVR owners in Switzerland. Lucky me, I live in this town where the TVR-dealer is.

Congratulations!

It's nice to see that the small Swiss representation on pistonheads is growing in number.
Very clever of you to live in Embrach, but then again you miss out on the fantastic 15 year old BMW TGE have as a loan car if your car is in for servicing...;-)
Cheers Andy
P.S. Question to you and Ozren: Have you received the Season program from TGE? Will there be any events at all this year?

Hi Andy

I have no infos about any events at all. But I'll ask next time I visit TGE.

I'll keep you posted.

Hello everybody,
Sad to hear that there are no TGE-orchestrated meetings this year – but it would be nice to go all together for a blast across the mountains this summer. FYI, I am planning to go to Hockenheim in September (ACS event, www.fahrkurs.ch) – anyone interested out there?
FOR ANDY – happy to hear from you again; since we last met there have been some changes: I got a kid (Nicholas, 3 months old) and I also (finally) managed to implement some improvements on the car (aluminium support plates under the seats & some minor make-up stuff). I will have to come to Canton ZH for MOT within the next 3-4 weeks, so if you are around we could have a drink together. Hope to see you soon.
Ciao!

Looks like we will have to organise a swiss PH meeting...I second Ozren's proposal of a trip through the alps in the summer!
I have also noticed that there are some changes going on at TGE. And they don't have a chief mechanic at the moment since Mr. Bichsel left, which is a bit frightening...
Ozren: Congratulations for the newest member of the family! I just spent the afternoon blasting around with my older one (4 years old) and he loves driving in the TVR to bits!
When you're in the area, we should definitely meet up, I'm very interested to hear about the seat support (you still have my mobile nr., right?). Mine seem to become more and more unstable...
Reto and Peter, maybe you want to join us so we can have a mini-meet?
Cheers Andy

Hello,
As soon as I have the exact date for the MOT, I will contact you guys. Hopefully we could all meet - at least for a drink - somewhere in the region of ZH/AG.
Cheers, Ozren
