Can anyone help?
I need to replace my front discs and callipers.
I have been told that they are from a Ford XR3.
Can you let me know if this is infact the case?
I would also like to know which oil switch is on the 4 litre Chimaera and does it have two contacts or one ( it's on the sump)? It's a 95 model - got the later gearbox.
Many thanks.

I've got an M-reg '95 4.0HC (with the solid rear discs) and changed my front discs and pads recently. They were the same as the Mark 1 Escort RS Turbo. Brake parts seem to be difficult to match up though so it's probably worth taking the existing ones off and matching them with the replacements before handing over any cash! (provided you've got another car, of course!)

Not doubting that you've ended up with the right stuff, but I wasn't aware there was a mark 1 Escort RS Turbo (IIRC it was mark 3 when the 1st RS Turbos came in around '85/'86)

The mk1 RS Turbo is the '85/'86 version, mk2 version was the later shape '87-'90 version

Mk3 RS Turbo had the "nostrils" in the front air dam, winglets on the rear spoiler & limited slip diff IIRC. These were made in the last year of production.

Edited to say I have the RS Turbo brakes on my Chimaera & they are better & cheaper than the originals, but I believe they don't fit all years of Chimaera, so definately take the old ones along to check.
