Boot opening ..... not what I expected!

Can anyone help please? I am a bit concerned as I don't know how to get into my boot in the event of the circuit failing. Now, I have been told about one particular method but having looked at it, it obviously doesn't apply to later cars. Can anyone please enlighten me? I'm a bit scared at the moment of being stranded and not being able to get myself out of trouble.

Any advice gratefully received.
