How easy will this be to do...remove the door plunger buttons from the rear wing...fill the holes and mount some door release buttons under the mirrors like new style chims have?

just need a couple of buttons, a couple of solenoids similar to the boot release and hey presto...jobs a good un...!

Seriously can anyone see any pitfalls, it seems straight forward enough to me?
I am also going to do the same for the boot release a la Cerb style.

Try one of the breakers like Bell Hill, they would be able to supply the whole kit off a later car.

You know you hinted you were going to convert to a Cerb ~ you didnt mean it literally did you?

why?
Do you know where i can get some back seats for my chim????

Just thought if i am going to respray my chim i might as well make one or two improvements and the boot release on the cerb is a very nice touch...especially when you have pulled up at the petrol pump, gone round to the back of the car and then remembered you have not popped the boot!!!

Just mused that you might be welding a bit in the chassis + grafting in a bit of bodywork whilst you were at it

Some Griff/Chims had the boot release you were talking about as a dealer upgrade IIRC. Mag reed switch near filler cap is just as effective IMHO (just depends where you are when you remember forgotten to pop the boot..) I wired my opener so it will work with the courtesy light delay ~ but if I dont have keys (with magnet attached) I still have to go back & get them ~ but I have 2 mins after door closed to activate boot opening. It is kind of handy having 2 circuits to open fuel hole in case 1 fails

I like the idea of having the courtesy delay for the boot...very good thinking that is...definately want shot of the door release buttons, time delay for the boot and a cerb style boot release....nice

Why not get Carl Baker's remote boot release conversion - solves all access problems.

It's ace, got it on mine. you get a little plipper that you can press and hey presto the boot opens; really neat and simple idea.
