Will be watching this with interest, as he's selling my old Cerb and I'm still tempted to buy it back. Rather worried it's only done about 3k in two years and three owners though

Hi i was enquireing about a chim, and asked if they could send me the pics they had direct to my email so i could have a better look before tavelling {quite a distance} the reply back was in the lines of come and see it ,dont like time wasters. that attitude put me right off.

wulmar . Yep that's poor , i always ask for loads of pic's to get a overall feel before travelling to the other side of the u.k.Most important thing is to turn the wheel and full lock and get a shot of the outriggers front and mounting plate rear . I mean how hard can it be really

thanks rum/wulmar

it seems he is like an intermediate, not private not 'main' type dealer with warranty.....

i guess my point is, rust can usually be seen, however what worries me is getting a car with loads of niggly electric probs, which arent always easy to find or are intermitent, any thoughts???

fergs I think the electrically thing can be determined a lot by the vehicles use.Yes they need using but I think cars used all year ( apart from the nice sunny days with dry roads) tend to suffer . I mean like electrically connectors dangling in front of rad e.t.c where exposed to the weather , also cars that leak or have leaked mean water can get into the ecu, and because of the hood cars can just get damp inside which starts causing corrosion on termials.I mean these cars are not taken to Alaska for 6 months and thrashed like modern testing for the average motor.I now these problems well working on boats in a harsh environment and if things are not properly protect they start to create problems in a matter on months and our roads in winter are not kind ( to the chassis and wishbones also peppered sills and frontal stone chips ) .I have looked after/ serviced a S series car for a good friend which lives outside for the last 2 years, that gets waxoyled twice a year and I go round spray grease clean most off the connectors as it does start to suffer. It has kept o.k inside due to a hood cover but the instrument surrounded have started to rust, so no doubt the internals of them are to. So really get a dry car no water marks and little winter use and garage stored.Watch out for Rosso Red cars that have not spent most of there life in a garage as they fade in colour rapidly. It was a problem when rover used it .

wulmar mines for sale and have loads of pic's, my house fell through but i thought well its on the market and i now need something to get over my disappointment so the hunt for a good 500 is on when mine goes.www.pistonheads.com/sales/138932.htm

No idea I'm afraid - sold it two years ago, seen it pop up on several traders sites, then reappeared under Phedenos, so has been through a fair few owners since I let her go. Assume they scared themselves as it was an early 4.2 with clatter cams, very, very, very quick and loud.

I bought a 4 Litre Chim. from Phil only 8 days ago. Sure his reputation is only as good as the cars he sells, but he is a genuine TV enthusiast! The car is a beauty, and I got it at a very fair price.

The journey from Yorkshire to North London just to see it was worth it.

I bought my chimaera from phedonos,I thought he was O.K.,for a dealer he seems to work on the basis of selling lots of cars with a low mark up,and advertises heavily to find them,he knows enough to avoid dodgy cars-which is all you can expect from a back st. dealer.

I dont know Phil, but he can't be more than 3 or 4 miles from me.

If you do make the long trip up from Hampshire please consider coming to see mine. A bit cheeky I know, but since the advert has been viewed nearly 300 times and I have been underwhelmed by the interest I would be prepared to flexible on price.......and the wife makes good tea.

Hi Fergs, we bought our Chim from Philip. We have a fab car and found him a real enthusiast. As far as the emailing pictures is concerned, I got the impression that he isn't all that 'au fait' with computers. We went to look at the car twice and it was as described and all the peper work was in order. I would say, go and have a look and judge for yourself. S

My mechanic was my husband! Nothing has gone wrong - we have had the car about 7 weeks. When you get there don't be put off by the premises, it looks a bit scruffy, but all the cars are under cover and I have no doubts that Philip will do you a good deal if he can. Good luck! Sarah
