Hi Guys.
Ned your help with this one. I have got to replaced the
torn and messy door seal that runs along the top of the door
(fits on the door between the window and the door)
This looks a nightmere job, is it as bad as i think with
removal of door panel, door frame ect or is there a easy way..?
Thanks for your help.

speaker out...feel for the bolts along the inside bottom of the door (10mm spanner needed) and undo the bolts...lift the bottom out and then lift the door panel upwards so it unclips from the top of the door...the door carpet is held on by a few self tappers....you shouldnt need to take this off but it is all an easy job...
...Thanks for that Andy (hope your re-build is going to plan,I am
keeping a watch ful eye on your "adventure" with your car!) but
with the door frame still and glass still in place it looks a pain
of a job. The seal seams to sit in a grove in the door and bonded
in. I was hopeing that it slid into the groove but that does not
appear the case!

No - it is bonded in.
From stripping the car down i have noticed that nearly everything is bonded, or self tapped into place!...only mechanical things are bolted!!!!
I think i shall have a look at mine tonight and see if they need replacing....the strip down is going very well and right on schedule thanks.
..Yeah that has increased posting count, either that or I have a
stutter. Dont know how that happened to be honest, i would ask the IT
people at work, but it could land me in hot water!
Thanks for looking into the fixing of the seal Andy. I am just reluctant
to take all the frame out as the door is draught and water leak free
and dont want to add any problems when I just want to replace the seal.

I took my door panels off last weekend and it is a pig of a job.
I do have largeish forearms and at one point had a panic attack when
I managed to get my arm stuck, this was doing the first door. The second was a lot easier as I opened up the speaker hole to the max with a half round file.
Even then it was tricky reaching the 10mm nuts, On my car there were a total of 4 on each panel, 1 infront of the speaker the other three back down inside the door.
Be prepared for loads of scrathes on your hands and arms,
As with the dash panel I cut the studs down by about 10mm to make it easier
to re-assemble.
Hope this helps
Ed
