ECU Upgrade question
Discussion
Can't answer your question specifically, but in attempt to offer some help, I have seen a thread on here where there was talk of doing away with the stepper motor. The point was, with an after market ECU, I think you set base idle with the throttle body and just accept the revs will drop a little if you operate the power steering at idle.

Don't know about DTA but quite a few aftermarket systems do have the facility to control a stepper motor for idle speed control. But what's pretty universal is the ability to play with the ignition timing around to stabilise the idle speed. This gives you a moderately good control over the idle speed, so an aftermarket ECU without any stepper motor is likely to be better behaved than the original hotwire without the stepper motor. And the hotwire without any stepper motor is not too bad, as a starting point.
