Hi,

I have just sold my TVR tuscan speed six 2000 model, It has been nothing but problems and I was thinking about buying a Chimaera or Griffith or Cerbera . Anthing that is not a speed 6!????

Can anyone give me any idean weather its a good move or if I can expect similer problems with any TVR.

Prior to my Tuscan I had an Z3M Roadster BMW which was very good fun, I loved the reliability of it and it was great to live with the only reason I sold it was down to wanting something a little more raw!

Thanks

Matt

I have no experience of the speed six engined cars. I have just bought a '99 450 Chimaera, but did consider a Tuscan..but reliability fears put me off!

I have only owned Rover V8 engined cars, 350i/400SE and the Chimaera. Never had a major mechanical problem with any of them.
Can only recommend the Chim so far.

You have no typecast for Cerb owners then?

I've had a 4.3 precat Griffith for the past six years (5000 miles per year) and it has been totally reliable and great fun. Generally the RV8s are reliable if properly serviced and they do like to be used.

I bought a chimp 500 with the idea that I'd have to spend £3k to do all the mods I wanted and the original block would be strong enough to take it.

With this came reliability but I underestimated by 100% and I did the suspension a will get a double plenum too.

Do it...and I think you answered my question whether I should buy a speed 6.

Went from V8 to S6 and back to V8 again.A good V8 car will prove very reliable,as long as it's well maintained

That probably has more to do with your skill/the Cerb driver's lack of skill. With equal wheelmen, a Cerb would eat a Chim alive...

Had my Chimaera just over a year now and had no problems at all, just gone through my 1st service and MOT without any trouble.

I've always fancied a Tuscan, they look absolutely amazing but I couldn't part with the Chimaera now.

Then again I quite fancy the Griff, Cerb and a Sagaris in fact sod it I'd have them all, now wheres that winning lottery ticket nuts

A V10 doesn't sound as nice as a V8 though
