Whilst ferretting around in the footwells I noticed that the drivers seat has a couple of spacers under the front edge, whilst at the back the runners fix tight to the floor. On the passenger side the runners are fixed tight to the floor at the front and back, giving a flatter seat.

Is it usual to have these spacers (about 3/4 inch high), or do you think this is a mod by a PO to raise the seat? It's a '98 Chim.

Cheers

Its normal... personally I have spacers front & rear to help spread the load on the fibreglass floor (and stop the rust getting onto the carpet ~ plastic blocks can be useful)..

Thanks Spend. I was wondering if this increased height was why I had trouble seeing anything useful in the side mirror. Must just be that I've short legs and a long body!
