I think you should search some of the old threads... Pretty sure complete change is a significantly more complicated procedure due to access (pedal box). Not wishing to discourage you, but if all you want is to fix a problem have a good trawl thru the old posts.

fifx,if this is any use,if for one minute i thought i was waisting my time i would have done the whole cylinder,i resealed mine from the footwell 18 mths ago(no problem since)if you shine a torch into the bore you can see for damage its that simple, its worth just popping the pedal pivot and circlip out to check it will save you alot of agro, just put an old towel in the pedal area so when you remove the piston the fluid does not soak your carpets, this job is so easy even i was suprisedhehe

According to this www.chimaerapages.com/resources_partslist.php

It's a Girling unit Part # 64066117 (Kit SP2102) I've looked about to see if there's any info on the 'original' application, but I can't find any.
Maybe your local Motor Factors can help.

are you my stalker?

I also need a new clutch master cylinder or overhaul kit for my 94 Chim 400. I also have my Mr2 up on axle stands at the moment. I also have a kit car (well, two actually). Freaky!

Best of luck with the fix on the Chim (and MR2)!

I believe TVR modified the original item, but I don't know what the modification was. The SP2102 kit is for a Hillman Imp and Lotus Cortina (or Cortina Lotus - I can't remember which is the Mk I). It comes with a couple of gaskets that are not used on the TVR.

my m/c looks on first glance to be a bog standard girling type, so Rally Design should be a cheapish place to get one if I'm right. About 15 quid ISTR from a couple of years back when I bought one for another project.

MR2 is a Mk1, up on stands for sill welding for the MOT and a few other little bits.

Cheers

I got a replacement master cylinder using the Girling part number. I had to drill and tap the outlet port to the next size up and swap the push rod over from the old unit(think I quoted actual thread particulars in a previous posting). May want to check that the garage have the tools available to do the mods.
