Sloshing noise topic touched on this, I definately do have trapped water in both doors confirmed by rapid movement of doors.
Has anybody moded theirs by putting in additional drain holes or similar as I assume it could lay there and decay window motor or anything else metal in the door over time.
Does anyone have pics of the doors without cards/trim fitted to see where it could lie?
As always any advice welcome please.

Here's a picture showing the door with the panel removed. The drain holes can be seen at the bottom of the door.

So you can't actually see very much in the bottom of the door. Have you checked the drain holes for blockage?

Thanks for the pic, reassuring that there is an additional piece of lining card in there to keep the water off the window motor.
I have checked the bottom drain holes for blockage and appear clear, what surprised me was how much water drains out when I reverse out the drive and the back of the car is significantly lower than the front, thats why I was thinking that there could be a pocket or ledge in there that needs an internal hole drilled to keep it clear of build up.
Just wondered if anybody had "been there and got the t-shirt". Guess I better had bite the bullit and get my arms scratched!

do all the Chimps have that seal below the holes? Its just they dont on have that on the Griffith. Could be why the water isn't escaping until the doors are open?

I've not got those rubber seals along the bottom of my doors, I've got the holes though.

Anybody know what the seals are? are they a standard section or are they something else?

Anybody replaced/renewed them if so where did you get them from?

Sorry for the Hijack

I also had water retention early on in the ownership of my Chimaera.

Dave Batty* drilled extra drain holes in the very bottom of the doors and I have never had a problem since.

It's not something I'd want to do myself (ie. DIY) due to the high risk of over-drilling and coming out the other side eek so I'd leave it to a pro like Dave if you wanted it done.

I don't think the door seals in the picture are anything to do with draining water. I think they're there to stop road dirt being thrown up on to the sills (and then into the door switches).
