The button to open the passenger door and the interior door knob dont work so I cant get the door open. Does anyone have any idea what the fault might be and how to fix it?

Can you hear the solenoid working (clunking when you push the door button)?

Peel the carpet back & inspect behind the door.

No, cant hear anything. Also, when I turn the knob on the inside to try and open the passenger side, if I turn it as far as I can it opens the drivers door.

Paul, you have a 93 car in your profile so you will have the door buttons on the rear wing.
All the door mechanism is mechanical on yours so it may just be a cable or rod that has come loose.
The door opener in the middle of the car has 2 cables that run round to the door pillar from the center console and maybe one of these has broken or become disconnected.
However for both door lock adjustments push the seats fully forward and pull back the side panel just behind the seats and you will find the locking mechanism here.
Quite straight forward once you have a look.
You will notice as well that the door locks are in the door frame and not in the door like most other cars. Just the catch is in the door itself.
Hope you fix it.
Cheers.
Paul.

Thanks for all the replies - It is a 93 so will have a look in the panel next to the seat. Hopefully if its a mechanical problem it shouldn't be too difficult to repair.
