Indicator Relay
Discussion
Hi, hoping someone will help me.
I suspect the flasher relay has died. There is no indicators or hazzard lights.Prior to it's death the relay was buzzing, causing the indicator to stay on and not to flash. This would happen intermittantly. I've checked all the fuses and none are blown.
In past threads it has been described as a tall black GM unit. No such thing in my dash(1994 Chim). It is a tall yellow 5 pin Ford part. I don't know if this helps but the number on top of it is 85GG 13C718 AA. Also printed in bright red on the side is 4ED512.
As live in Perth Australia I'm unable to get this relay here. Where would be the best place in the U.K to get this sent over?
Thanks Justin.

OK your pictures are at
Im fairly sure that relay/timer (a ford courtesy light unit) is for the cunningly automatic heated mirrors
The flasher unit goes in the top right as shown in your picture
My wiring diagram for the aux relay panel is at http://tvr3.dspen.com/Wiring_Diags/au which might help.
The flasher unit is a simple 3 pin flasher, I have a feeling it is like an RFL3

Dave,
Your knowledge and diagrams have been invaluable. It has allowed me to fix the problem with a standard 3 pin flasher relay(sited in the corner of the relay board with the yellow base). No need for heated mirrors over here, so I've dispensed with the 5 pin flasher/heated mirror combo.

No... You always need the flasher - the mirror timer is independant, they happen to share the same main power & earth (as do several other items). I was a little confused that yours was missing ~ dont know what these convicts do for their regulations when they allow proper cars into the jail
