Central locking not working.
Discussion
Hi all.
Having had a flat battery, now all charged and working fine. Originally when I reconnected, the alarm wouldn't turn off, so I disconnected, then reconnected the battery and after plipping the remote, all was fine.
However, now the doors wont lock! I've checked all of the fuses on the fuse board, and all are okay. The button on the door opener doesn't lock / unlock the doors, but the door opener buttons under the mirrors still both work.
All worked fine before the battery went flat (totally flat!) but now I've worked it all out apart from the central locking.
After searching the forums here, do you feel that it may be the door solenoids? Can't believe that both may have gone at the same time; or do you think that it may be this elusive 10A central locking fuse that I can't seem to spot? Is it located behind the dashboard, along with the alarm unit?
Many thanks in advance,
James.

James,
Have you checked the door pin switches on the sill are working Ok.
They are pressed when the doors are closed, and if one of them is faulty the alarm thinks one of the doors are open and will therefore not allow you to arm the system.
Check on the doors themselves and make sure that the small rubber grommet is not missing where the button touches the door as this may stop the pin switches from being pushed fully in.
It may just be worth disconnecting the battery earth for 10 seconds or so and then reconnect
as the alarm does get out of synch from time to time.
Just remember that the alarm is armed once the battery is connected back up.
Let us all know how you get on,
Cheers,
Paul.
