Mine is limited mileage agreed value classic policy - I think from memory, 5,000 was the maximum mileage they offered. I also seem to remember that it had to be a second car.

Well worth a call though...

I'm also with Hagerty, very decent people to do business with.

The policy is classic car, which means a limited annual mileage, the car must not be left parked outside a garage after 10pm, the car must not be used for business (including communting), and the car must be a second car, i.e. not your main car.

If this fit's you, and it did for me, then they are very competitive.

Don't think so... give them a ring but I was told you need to garage overnight.

Are you sure your quote wasn't for 3000 miles?

I got quotes from Hagerty and A-Plan based on 5000 miles. 2nd car, garaged, 47yrold driver with no claims or convictions living in a crime free rural area. Both quotes were within £1 of each other at £369 and £370

Mine is indeed for 3,000 miles although you can up the mileage at the same rate as buying it up front should you need it..

I use Mannings.

I'm ineligable for most classic or limited mileage policies as my Chimaera is kept under a carport and not a full garage, and I need Class 1 Business Use so I can drive it to client sites when the weather is nice (no point having the car if you seldom get to drive it).

Mannings came up with an extremely competative quote for unlimited mileage policy and Class 1 Business Use plus track day cover for TVRCC track days which came in at around £400-odd. I think I'm in my 3rd year with them now as I can't find anyone else as good for the type of cover I want.

I maintain a list of recommended TVR insurers, let me know if you get a good quote from any that I've missed.

Personally I recommend A-Plan.

My cheapest quote initially was from Tesco and they put the partner on for no extra cost.
After I had the TVR for a year or so then it was cheaper through A Manning, which included track day use (but the excess was more)

Privilege was by far cheapest for me - only car used daily for commuting etc..... 12,000 miles a year, Chim 400 1995, protected no claims, was just over £500. (I am 31, car left on driveway overnight, full ncb). All other places wanted over £1100!!!

Toby.
