ordered some gaskets off Tim - cheap at £12 for a full set ( both sides ) plus VAT and del.
Tim has no bolts sets however so still need those ARPS...

I could look up the thread and length etc but it's a waste of time, seriously just ask for a set of ARP K-head exhaust manifold bolts for an RV8.

Christ on a bike ! just got the manifold off - what a bitch of a job that was. The drivers side is MUCH worse than the passenger side to do. Eventually got underneath and the access isn't bad ( apart from all the rust and shite falling on you as you work )apart from the very back bottom bolt which have to do by feel. Also the 4 cylinder bottom bolt and the 8 cylinder top bolt won't come out until you have the manifold loose and can pull it forward to get the bolts away from the tubing !

Gasket deffo fuct in 2 places so glad it wasn't the cam ticking ! Worst bit was one of the top bolts, which are the easiest to get to, would NOT come undone and I couldn't get a ring spanner on it as the tubing is too close - was slowly buggering the nut and starting to panic then decided to sacrifice a ring spanner and ground some of the meat off the outside to get in between bolt and tube and presto-chango it fitted and with a loud crack came undone - smiles all round.

Just waiting for supplies to arrive and refitting will commence....thanks to all for your help...

i had problems with my exhaust gaskets blowing all the time so ended up with uprated ones, then had the bolts lockwired to stop movement and breaking the gaskets, never had a problem since, although the mechanic who did it wasnt too happy with his shredded hands
