As the headline says, I really want a Tuscan. I have had my Chimaera advertised for a couple of months and only had one viewing.

I think the guy was looking for a 5.0L, he already had a 4.0L Ginetta. I enjoyed taking him out for a blat anyway, nice guy Simon, how's the hunt going? What sort of price should I be asking for a quick sale?
This isn't meant to be a plug for my ad Big Al, just need some sensible views on what I should reasonably ask.

looks a fair price to me, though it doesn't say whether the SH is full or not ?

yesI'd agree with that (providing it's FSH).

You might find the better weather generates more interest...

How much difference does a FSH have on price?

I think your asking too much. I have just bought a 1996 Chim 4.0L - Ross Pear, FSH - EXC cond - 34,000 miles. £8500.

Hope this helps.

Hi Mike !! Sorry, I never got back to you with any decision one way or the other - wanted to look at some more before I did.

Going to make a decision on one this afternoon as long as everything looks OK when its up on the ramps. Might soon be a Chim owner !!

Thanks for the blat as well !! A slightly longer and more enthusiastic blat than other owners have take me on !! At least you might have made somebody else join the ranks of TVR ownership shortly !! thumbup

Oh, BTW..........its a 4.5L Ginetta........!!

Regards,

Simon

I was offered between £8-9000 on a part ex, trade.
It was a pleasure Simon, glad I've helped you decide a TVR is for you. What's the car you are looking at? 5.0L?
Cheers!!

It does happen to be a 5.0L but purely by coincidence, I would have been happy with a 4.0/4.5/5.0. Saw one that was advertised that wasn't a million miles away so went over immediately to look at it and it fitted the bill (so far) and happened to be a 5.0. Well maintained with lots of new bits over the last couple of years, same owner since new. Want to make sure the underside is OK so it'll be on the ramps this afternoon.......fingers crossed.

Ditto I'm afraid too Mike. My mate just bought a '97 4.0 in very good condition with full history and 29,000 miles for £9,500.

The car stands him including a full inspection and a major service by Leven, at a smidge over £10k.

I would say that you need to be around £10,750 and be prepared to drop a couple of hundred.

Thanks guys, I will re-adjust the price. It's a cracking car and has had a small fortune spent on her. I'd keep her but I can't have both, unfortunately!!

You'll have to change your login though!

However, "Straight Six Devil" doesn't have that same ring to it...
