Hey,
My Chim has just arrived in Australia having been in a container from the UK for the last month and a half. I'm getting it out of the shipping container tomorrow and am a little concerned that the battery will be flat after not having been used for this length of time....

As such i have a portable booster pack that i am hoping to use to get it going if the battery is indeed dead, the problem being that as the car is in the container still there is not a lot of room to get in at it an as such connecting it could be very tricky.

Can anyone suggest the best place to connect the pack onto that is not going to put too much risk of damaging anything but that will be accessible without being able to open the passanger side door, the drivers door anything more than about 5 inches (i had to climb out of the roof when it was driven in there), or can be got at easily under the bonnet again in very limited space round each side.

Basically i am thinking attaching directly to the battery is a complete no-go so hopefully there is somewhere easily accessible on top of the engine.

Thanks

Al

Can't you push it out of the container and then jump start directly onto the battery?

The handbrake is on so will potentially have stuck a bit as it tends occasionally to do over the last month so not sure if pushing will be working either.

Will give it a shot though in the absence of any easily accesible place to connect the booster.

It is surprisingly effective to use the wheel spokes to move the car BTW.

You will need to get to the battery, should have installed jump leads before you loaded in hindsight or even better a battery disconnect.

Well as it turns out i needn't have worried - turned the key and it started up first time.

Love it.
